Wood on the wall, a material that changes the mood

Few materials warm up a workspace like wood. A slatted wall in an open-plan office, a wooden panel behind reception, a cut-out logo in a meeting room: the space gains texture, depth and visual calm.

For 20 years and on more than 1,200 projects, we have designed, made and installed office decoration. Wooden wall decoration is part of our eco-friendly decoration approach: a material from a renewable resource, whose origin we can document, and a piece made to stay on the wall for a long time.

We work for management teams, office managers, HR directors and architects who want a careful result, consistent with the company's identity, and clear information on the materials.

What's at stake

Three questions to settle before putting wood on an office wall.

Where the wood comes from

Depending on the references, we offer FSC or PEFC labelled wood or panels, which attest to sustainable management of the source forest. On request, we send you the supporting documents.

Fire safety

In buildings open to the public, wall-mounted wood must meet the required reaction-to-fire rating. We choose suitable or treated panels depending on the site.

Consistency with the brand

Species, shade, rhythm of the slats: every choice ties back to your brand guidelines. Wood becomes part of your identity, not just a finish.

What kinds of wooden wall decoration for an office?

Wood lends itself to very different uses. We often combine them in one project to keep a common line from one room to the next.

  • Wood slat walls: vertical slats set at regular intervals, on a black or coloured background. They structure a wall, mark a reception area or dress a partition.
  • Wooden wall panels: veneer, plywood, solid wood, full height or as a dado. They define an area without closing it off.
  • Wooden logos: your logo cut out and mounted in relief, on stand-offs or flat, at reception or in a meeting room.
  • Wooden lettering: the company name, a value, a phrase, in letters cut to the size of the wall.
  • Geometric shapes and skylines: cut-out patterns, alone or in a composition, for a graphic wall.

Wood slats on the wall: what you need to know

The slatted wall is the most frequent request. Its effect depends on three settings: the section of the slats, the spacing between them and the colour of the background. Thin, close slats give a discreet, regular look. Wider, more spaced slats mark the rhythm more strongly.

Fitted over an absorbent backing, slats can also contribute to the acoustic treatment of a room. The real effect depends on the surface treated, the backing chosen and the volume of the room. When acoustics is a goal, we address it from the design stage, with your architect or an acoustician if needed.

We fix the slats on battens or on backing panels, depending on the condition of the wall. This mechanical fixing allows clean removal, which is useful in rented premises.

How to choose the wood for your wall decoration

Oak, beech, pine, birch, walnut: each species has its own shade, grain and price. Oak brings a classic warmth. Birch, pale and even, suits bright spaces. Dark woods give a more muted look, well suited to meeting rooms and executive areas.

For engineered panels such as plywood or MDF, we check the formaldehyde emission class stated by the manufacturer. For finishes, depending on the substrate, we offer water-based varnishes, oils or stains. And when a label matters for your CSR report, we choose FSC or PEFC references and send you the corresponding documents.

Wood moves with humidity and temperature. We allow for this in the fixing gaps and the choice of panels, especially near large windows or in draughty lobbies. This care is what keeps a wooden wall straight and clean years later.

From sketch to installation, one point of contact

We start with a site visit or your plans. Our art directors then propose a design: layout, species, dimensions, a visual on a photo of your wall. You approve on this visual, then on a wood sample.

The pieces are cut to measure, including by laser cutting for logos and fine lettering, then assembled and finished. Our teams install on site, in working offices if necessary, area by area.

  • Survey and bespoke design
  • Visual on photo and approval on sample
  • Manufacture and finishing of the pieces
  • Installation by our teams and careful removal if needed

Combining wood with plants and other materials

Wood pairs well with preserved plants: a slatted wall framing a moss panel, a wooden logo on a plant background, or a plant logo set on wood cladding. It also works with eco-friendly wallpaper in neighbouring rooms.

We integrate these elements into office decoration in Paris designed as a whole, with printed wall decoration, signage and window film. Have a wall to dress? Brief us.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is wood an eco-friendly material for wall decoration?

Wood comes from a renewable resource, but everything depends on its origin and processing. That is why, depending on the references, we offer FSC or PEFC labelled wood and water-based finishes depending on the substrate. We tell you what applies to each piece.

Can wood be installed on walls in buildings open to the public?

Yes, provided it meets the reaction-to-fire rating required for the site. We choose compliant or treated panels and give you the test reports for the materials.

Does a slatted wall improve acoustics?

It can contribute if it is fitted over an absorbent backing. The effect depends on the surface treated and the room. If acoustics is a goal, we take it into account from the design stage, with an acoustician if necessary.

Can you make our logo in wood?

Yes. We cut your logo in wood, in one or more thicknesses, and install it in relief. See our wooden logo page.

Does wooden wall decoration need maintenance?

Very little. Regular dusting is enough in most cases. A suitable finish protects the wood from marks in high-traffic areas.

Can the decoration be removed at the end of a lease?

Yes. We favour mechanical fixing, on battens or backing panels, which comes off cleanly. The pieces can often be reinstalled in your next premises.
