A bespoke décor, carefully chosen materials
Eco-friendly wallpaper is not an official category. It is a set of concrete choices: the backing, the inks, indoor air emissions, how it is hung and how it is removed. We present these options for each project, with the technical data sheet of the chosen product.
We design the artwork, print it to measure at the exact size of the wall and install it. Pattern, panoramic photo, texture or plant motif: bespoke wallpaper becomes an identity tool for an office, a hotel or a restaurant.
What's at stake
Three criteria to check before choosing wallpaper for a professional space.
Indoor air
The French indoor air emissions label rates every wall covering from A+ to C. We favour A+ rated products.
Fire safety
In public venues, the covering must have the required fire rating, M1 or B-s1,d0 depending on the case. We check this before proposing a product.
End of life
Some non-woven papers strip off dry, in a single length, without damaging the wall. The décor can then be renewed without major works.
What makes wallpaper more responsible
There is no such thing as zero-impact wallpaper. There are choices that reduce certain nuisances, to be documented product by product. These are the choices we put on the table, with the manufacturers' technical data sheets.
Claims such as "recycled paper" or "from managed forests" only count if they are proven. We only use them when the manufacturer's data sheet or a verifiable label documents them, and we send you these documents with the quote.
- Backing: PVC-free non-woven papers, depending on the product, rather than vinyl.
- Inks: water-based or latex inks, depending on the printer used, rather than solvent inks.
- Emissions: A+ indoor air emissions label, the best class on the scale.
- Hanging: adhesive suited to the backing, chosen with the product.
- Removal: dry-strippable non-woven papers on request, to make the next change of décor easier.
The A+ label and fire rating
Since 2012, every wall covering sold in France must carry a label showing its level of volatile pollutant emissions into indoor air, on a scale from A+ (very low emissions) to C (high emissions). It is a simple way to compare two products, and a concrete point for a CSR policy or a building certification.
In a building open to the public, fire rating is mandatory. Depending on the applicable regulations, this means the French M1 rating or the European B-s1,d0 classification. Hotel lobby, restaurant, reception area: we state the rating of each product proposed and supply the test report when required.
Non-woven wallpaper for offices
Non-woven is a blend of textile fibres and cellulose. It stays stable when hung: it does not shrink or stretch as it dries, which makes matching easier on a large panoramic. It is hung by pasting the wall directly, and some products strip off dry.
In offices, durability matters too. In a corridor, near a coffee machine or in a busy meeting room, we choose a washable product, or add a protective varnish when the backing allows. The level of washability depends on each product.
Bespoke wallpaper: from pattern to wall
Bespoke wallpaper is printed to the exact size of the wall, length by length, with joins aligned to the pattern. It can use your brand guidelines, a photograph, an illustration by our art directors or a texture. For a freer, hand-painted décor, see also our murals.
At the AXA Opéra offices, bespoke wallpaper combines with laser-cut metal, acrylic and stone around a single plant theme. In the Humanis entrance hall, a greatly enlarged leaf motif covers the walls and doors, in an adhesive version suited to the existing wall. The choice between wallpaper and adhesive depends on the wall: we decide after the site survey.
Where to use it: offices, hotels, restaurants
In offices, wallpaper structures a reception area, sets floors apart, tells the company's story in a meeting room. In a hotel or restaurant, it sets the mood of a room, a corridor or a dining area, within public venue regulations.
In a damp room, a kitchen or a washroom, we recommend a product suited to humidity, or another technique if wallpaper is not the right choice. On a damaged wall, a preparation coat comes before hanging.
It combines with other materials from our eco-friendly decoration range: a preserved plant wall in the lobby, wooden wall decoration, a plant logo. For all wall techniques, see office wall decoration.
Our method, from mock-up to installation
We start with a site survey: dimensions, wall condition, openings, use and regulatory constraints. We then propose an in-situ visual and one or two backing products, with their characteristics. Once approved, we print to size, prepare the wall if needed and install, area by area when the offices stay open.
With more than 1,200 projects over 20 years of experience, we know the constraints of an occupied site and a public venue. To start your project, brief us.

What is eco-friendly wallpaper?
It is not an official label. We mean concrete choices: PVC-free non-woven backing depending on the product, water-based or latex inks, A+ emissions label, dry removal where possible.
What does the A+ label on wallpaper mean?
It is the best class of the French indoor air emissions label, mandatory on wall coverings in France since 2012. It indicates very low volatile pollutant emissions.
Which wallpaper should I choose for a public venue?
A product with the required fire rating, M1 or B-s1,d0 depending on the applicable regulations. We check this rating for each proposal and supply the test report on request.
Is non-woven wallpaper washable?
It depends on the product. Some non-woven papers are washable, others can take a protective varnish. We choose according to how the room is used.
Is non-woven wallpaper easy to remove?
Some non-woven papers strip off dry, by pulling the length away, without damaging the wall. We can make this a requirement on request.
Can you design the pattern?
Yes. Our art directors design original artwork or adapt your brand guidelines, then we print it at the exact size of the wall.
Do the offices have to close during installation?
No. We can work area by area or outside office hours to limit disruption.
